A.P. John barrels are the first choice for many of Australia’s leading wineries and wine groups including Southcorp Wines, Orlando Wyndham Group, Hardys and CA Henschke. Internationally recognised iconic Australian wine brands such as Penfolds Grange, Henschke Hill of Grace and Rockford Basket Press are all aged in A.P. John barrels.
Martins Integrated was commissioned to create a series of press ads that captured attention in key wine industry publications. These ads needed to reinforce the origins of the materials, the quality and uniqueness of the A.P. John barrel. But they also needed to be eye-catching enough to stand out in the marketplace.
Using quirky, yet appealing and recognisable imagery and tight copywriting Martins Integrated created a suite of adverts played to humour and interest without detracting from the serious brand message behind the quality of the product.
Even before they were seen by the public, one wine industry observer remarked that new the A.P.John adverts were ‘simply awesome’.
