The big guns of Australia’s defence industry converge on Adelaide. 28 Jul 2009

The Defence + Industry Conference and Trade Exhibition (D+I) is Australia’s premier defence industry event. The 2009 event was held from June 30 to July 2 at the Adelaide Convention Centre in Adelaide, South Australia. It brought together more than 2000 delegates who had the opportunity to network and become informed about key defence procurement strategies in the areas of electronic systems, weapons and munitions, maritime, aerospace land and vehicles with a focus on defence capability. Two of the major exhibitor stands at D+I were designed, built and installed by Martins Integrated; South Australia – the Defence State and Techport.

Ongoing upgrades to the South Australia – the Defence State set (that Martins designed and built last year) included constructing an additional display tower, internally illuminating the reception counter and soundproofing the boardroom to combat the excessive noise experienced at such trade shows.

For D+I 2009, the Techport stand (originally designed and built by Martins in 2007) received a facelift to highlight changes to the Techport project itself and to reflect the relationship between Techport and Defence SA. The printed floor graphics that illustrate the Techport site plan were upgraded in line with progressing construction works at the site, the Techport branding and display wall were completely redesigned and re-built and the overall exhibition layout (including accommodating a 3m x 2.5m LED screen) was rearranged to suit the new display space.

Martins Integrated will next combine elements from the 2 stands for the Pacific 2010 International Maritime Expo.
